Survival 101

This week I was approached by Man Crates, which is an awesome shop that specializes in gifts for guys packed in wooden crates that you open with an included crowbar. 

Being the one-the-go male blogger that wears multiple hats, (Husband, Son, full-time student and employee…) I came up with 6 essentials that I would need in order to survive say, being stranded on an island. Here's my breakdown (in no particular order):

1. Carmex

Traveling from the hot weather of Phoenix to the fresh and chill city of San Diego, my lips tend to easily dry. Being so, lip care would be a must.

2. Salvatore Ferragamo Belt

I know, I know…a belt? Well if you think about it, a dandy designer belt can help out to keep my pants above my hips, but I can also use it as a rope or even hunting gear!

3. GQ Magazine

If I'm going to be stranded somewhere, I better have something interesting to read! GQ always have the fashion section, a few couple real-life stories of dudes like you and me, and perhaps a story or article on how to keep myself alive!

4. Brita Water Bottle Filter

Always on the go means by thirsty constantly. I am a big fan of Brita, you purify your own water and you help the environment by not purchasing plastic bottles or containers.

5. iPad Mini

Let's say I'm stranded and my iPad's AT&T signal is not available…how would I benefit form the iPad? Luckily I have my iPad loaded with a compass, flashlight, and many useful gadgets! Battery life on the iPad is amazing, perhaps I can use the flashlight at night and flash it above your head.

6. Jack Black's Industrial Strength Hand Healer

In order to keep my hands hydrated and avoid them feeling dry and rough, Jack Black's lotion is my best friend. Fresh and minty, this lotion works wonders. Falling asleep, rub a bit against your forehead and its minty scent will sure wake you up.
